Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) has signed an agreement to provide maintenance, support as well as project delivery services to New Zealand’s oil refinery Refining NZ through the HPS Assurance 360 programme.
Under the terms of the five-year agreement, HPS will provide complete lifecycle maintenance for the refinery’s control systems and migrate the refinery to HPS’ Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS), the latest process control technology.
HPS Australia and New Zealand Pacific sales director Neil Wold said: “Through the Assurance 360 programme, Refining NZ no longer has to worry about maintaining and supporting their Honeywell control systems or making sure they are using the latest technology.
“These services transform how plant assets are managed, focusing on system performance and outcomes while allowing operators like Refining NZ to focus on operations.”
Through the Assurance 360 programme, which was launched in 2014, HPS experts will provide maintenance and support services on-site.
Refining NZ CEO Sjoerd Post said: “Strategic alliances are at the core of Refining NZ’s developing business, as we move from a self-supported operation to establishing a broad network of expert partnerships.
“We have partnered with Honeywell due to its significant expertise in control systems and have the up most confidence that through this relationship, our operations will continue to meet global best practise standards.”
Refining NZ has also used Honeywell UOP’s processes, which include a fixed-bed reforming unit and the UOP Bensat process to meet high-octane gasoline specifications.
The company operates the 96,000bpd Marsden Point Oil Refinery, located at Marsden Point, Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand.
