GE Oil & Gas has inaugurated first-phase expansion of the 10,500m² ‘Made in Saudi’ manufacturing facility in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
The latest development, which forms part of the company’s proposal to achieve the goal of 70% localisation in Saudi, is set to expand capacity of the existing manufacture of advanced pressure control technology, testing and repair services.
According to GE, the facility will serve as a centre for the supply of ‘Made in Saudi’ equipment for Saudi and regional markets.
It has now expanded capacity to manufacture the complete range of its pressure control solutions which include wellhead systems and advanced flow control solutions.

GE Oil & Gas president and CEO Lorenzo Simonelli said: “With today’s announcement, we have entered a new and important phase of our partnership in the Kingdom and are delighted that our partners from Saudi Aramco are here to celebrate with us.
“With this manufacturing expansion we are delivering on our promise to be able to bring more advanced manufacturing capacity to the Kingdom and to employ more talented Saudis.”
Built in accordance with GE’s technical and environmental, health and safety standards, the facility marks the first phase of an ongoing investment by GE Oil & Gas at the MODON (Saudi Industrial Property Authority) site in 2nd Industrial City.
