PBJV Group, a subsidiary of Barakah Offshore Petroleum, has secured a contract with Sarawak Shell and Sabah Shell Petroleum to supply pigging equipment to offshore Sarawak and Sabah, Malaysia.
Under the contract, PBJV will supply operational pigs and pigging accessories that would be used to ensure the even flow of oil and gas.
As part of the three-year contract, PBJV will supply operational pipeline intervention gadgets and accessories.
“The value of the award will depend on the actual work orders to be issued by Shell from time to time during its duration.”
The company has an option to extend the contract for another one year.
PBJV will perform offshore operations for the maintenance of oil and gas pipelines primarily.
The Star Online reported Rigzone as saying that the pipeline gadgets are usually cylindrical or spherical.
By scrapping the sides of the pipeline and pushing debris ahead, the gadgets sweep the line.
According to Barakah, the pig can clear the line to inspect the interior.

Pipeline pigging, serves as a form of flow assurance for oil and gas pipelines, as well as flowlines. It makes sure that the line is moving without any difficulty.
