Gastech – the world’s leading natural gas & LNG conference and exhibition – will be partnering with classification society, Lloyd’s Register, and other LNG industry specialistsat the Centres of Technical Excellence (CoTEs) in Singapore from 27 to 30 October 2015.
The CoTEs is a free-to-attend technical programme that is open to all Gastech Exhibition visitors, and features over 80 cutting-edge seminars across 11 topics in natural gas & LNG. Presentations passed through a rigorous process that attracted a record number of technical submissions earlier this year.
Evolution and innovation are key growth factors in LNG & Gas Carrier Shipbuilding
Gastech is partnering with Lloyd’s Register to present the LNG & Gas Carrier Shipbuilding stream. The classification society will start by outlining the evolution of LNG carrier designs with gas turbine propulsion.
Another speaker for this session, GTT, attributes its company’s successful performance to its approach to research and development. In response to GTT receiving a new order for an LNG carrier for Mitsui & Co, Philippe Berterottière said: “This new order also confirms the importance of our innovation policy. Out of 31 orders recorded over the last six months, 30 used technologies which were launched over the last three years”.
Korean shipyard giant, Samsung Heavy Industries, and various other ship technology leaders such as Wartsila and Babcock will also share their insights.
Is LNG the future bunker fuel?
Technological advancement also continues to propel LNG as the bunker fuel of the future. Just this year, Nor Lines’ Kvitbjørn made history by becoming the world’s first vessel to operate between Asia and Europe solely on LNG. Rolls-Royce, the technology giant providing the ship’s pure gas engine, is partnering with Lloyd’s Register to present the latest developments in “LNG as Marine Fuel†technology at the Centres of Technical Excellence (CoTEs) seminars.
This year’s CoTEs programme also addresses: Gas Processing, LNG Bunkering, Natural Gas Vehicles, Floating LNG, Offshore Technology, LNG Facilities & Infrastructure, Information & Communication Technology in Gas, Small-Mid Scale LNG and Pipeline Infrastructure.
The CoTEs seminars have been a regular draw at the Gastech Exhibition since 2011. They attract over 3,000 technical gas professionals who attend these informative seminars to gain knowledge, education and awareness of technological developments and applications in the gas & LNG industry.
Pre-event registration is free and is currently open; already hundreds of industry professionals have registered to attend what is set to be this year’s largest gathering for the gas industry and its related sectors.
Gastech Conference & Exhibition is hosted by BG Group. The event is also supported by the Energy Market Authority (EMA) Singapore, International Enterprise (IE) Singapore and the Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau (SECB), and will be held in association with the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW).
