Saudi Aramco awards project to McDermott for 12 jackets off Saudi Arabia

Saudi Aramco has awarded a contract to McDermott International for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of 12 jackets offshore Saudi Arabia.

Work at offshore oil and gas fields in Saudi Arabian waters is scheduled for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2016.

McDermott’s teams in Dubai, UAE, and Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia will carry out the engineering and procurement works.

The jackets will be fabricated by the company’s UAE-based fabrication facility in Dubai, while the installation work will be performed by vessels from the company’s global fleet.

According to McDermott, the latest contract received is the second one in 2015 from its client Saudi Aramco and represents work scope bid under an existing agreement.

McDermott Middle East vice-president Tom Mackie said: “The project called for an extremely responsive bid phase and for fast-track execution.

According to McDermott, the latest work will be included in its second quarter 2015 backlog.

In March 2015, Saudi Aramco awarded a contract to the company for a power supply system replacement that uses the full EPCI expertise of the latter.

McDermott helps oil companies produce and transport hydrocarbons safely by delivering fixed and floating production facilities, pipelines as well as subsea systems for complex offshore and subsea projects.
